Target Minimums, Handloaded Ammunition
During a vote held by the NSCA Executive Council last week, it was decided that the NSCA will waive the target minimum requirements for State and Regional events through June 1, 2021. The Regional events affected are the Western Regional, Southeast Regional, and Northeast Regional. This means there will be no penalty class assigned at these events for not having shot 300 registered targets or more in the current year. Again, this is only applicable for events being held through June 1, 2021. After that date, the NSCA minimum target requirement will go back into effect for all State and Regional Championships, along with the U.S. Open and National Championship.
Additionally, the NSCA Executive Council voted that during the shoot year 2021 ONLY, the NSCA is giving the host clubs the OPTION to allow reloads at the Regionals, U.S. Open and National Championship for all sporting events. This DOES NOT include FITASC events where reloads are still prohibited. Each club will be responsible for making their decision known to the participants prior to the start of the event. If you have any questions about use of reloads, please contact the club directly.
These decisions are based on the effect the pandemic is still having on registered event availability in many areas of the country, combined with the difficulty many members are having obtaining ammunition.
Ohio Outdoors News just published an article on Gene Goodwin. Gene was a founding member of the OSCA.
