We are pleased to announce that native Ohioan, Dan Bailey will be our target setter for the 2014 Ohio State Championship being held July 31st through August 3rd. Dan is a true lover of our sport. His accomplishments include being on the All-State Team for ten of the past 13 years. He made All-American in 2006 and All Zone in 2008. Dan won the Ohio State Championship in 2005, and the Michigan State Championship in 2006. In 2011 Dan was the Ohio Cup Champion. Most recently, Dan was the 2013 Nationals 28 Gauge FITASC Runner-Up.
Dan got started setting targets in 2006 at Ivy Springs Clays, under the guidance of then manager, Scott Williams. He was Cardinal Sporting Clays Manager in 2012 where the state shoot was held. Most recently he set targets for the 2013 Michigan State Shoot and for Briar Rabbit here in Ohio.
Dan is widely respected for his talent, and creativity as well as for his support of the shooting community. He has been a Shooting Pro for the Boomer Esiason Foundation for 12 years, and a Pro for Ronald McDonald Charities for 10 years.
Dan Bailey tells of how he loves to set targets. “I want the shooters to be entertained. They should be excited to get to the next station! As a target setter, you are an entertainer, hired to give the shooters value for their money.”
When you go to a shoot where Bailey has set the targets, you will see him everywhere. He is quick to address any concerns such as weather or trap related problems. His presentations are creative and challenging, yet fair. He studies his shooters, watching how they handle new target presentations. Please join us as we look forward to the challenges Dan will have in store at the 2014 State Sporting Clays Championship.
